Hello backers!

How have you been? 

We must apologize for the long silence, these last weeks have been somewhat irregular for us since we had several dropouts of our team due to Covid-19, which has finally got to us. Now we are all recovered and strengthened,  the shutters are up again and the machines are running.

Production and shipping news:

That said, we are about 2 weeks behind with our production schedule, which is not a big concern as we have the whole of February to catch up. The paper has arrived a couple of days ago and our printing team is already on fire and has started with the production of the 12 Principles flip book.  We have 4 whole pallets of paper that we now need to print before it gets into our old Heidelberg die cutting press. Now that we can catch up the pace again, we're confident that we will be able to ship during the month of February, as announced in our campaign. 

Surveys: 

We already have 90% of the surveys filled in and plenty of you have picked add-ons, which is wonderful! The 10% of you who still need to complete your surveys, please do so NOW, as we urgently need to know in which language you would like to receive your 12 Principles flip book.

More News:

While the flip book production is in full swing back home, Jossie and I are preparing for our next wholesale trade show, this time in New York! 😍 We arrived 2 days ago and are running last minute errands before we start setting up our booth tomorrow.  If you happen to be a reseller and plan to attend the NYNow this upcoming weekend (February 6-9), we would be thrilled to meet you at our booth and say hello! Our booth number is 2660.

Survey Announcement!

Hello lovely backers,

Happy New Year to you all! 💥🎉 We hope you all had wonderful holidays and enjoyed some fabulous time with your families and friends. We've had a little rest after the exciting campaign and are now ready to send your surveys. This time you will receive a BacerKit invitation in order to collect the info we need to fulfill your rewards.

You should expect to receive the invitation throughout the day today, the entire process should only take a couple minutes to complete. The invitation will be sent directly to the email address linked to your Kickstarter account. Be sure to check your spam folder in case it was captured there!

Here's how it looks:

Please, submit the completed survey as quickly as possible in order for us to commence fulfillment.

You do not need to make a login and password in order to access your survey as you will receive an email with a unique link. Please note that your order will be locked and charged immediately upon completing your survey. If you need to make any changes to your order after submitting your survey, please reach out to a member of our team for help. You can do this here.

Add-Ons

BackerKit gives you the opportunity to verify your reward, as well as collect the shipping fee and shipping address. On top of all that, you can also add additional items to your existing pledge. Most of our previous flip book editions will be available here, as well as all the individual items from this campaign, e.g. the 12 Principles Flipbook, Blanko, The Online Animation Course, the Extraordinary Tales Flipbook and Raúl's Books. Also, there is still two Lucky Luke Cels available that can be added as individual add-ons.

Some info on Shipping

We decided to collect shipping fees on BackerKit because it is weight-based. This is ultimately the most reliable because we can define the exact cost for each country and each pledge combination, including add-ons. All shipments will have a tracking number, that we will send to you once your package has been shipped.

Survey FAQ

I can't find my survey email

The personalized link was emailed to the address that you provided when making your pledge. Be sure to check your spam folder. If you have lost your survey email, you can submit your email address using this retrieve tool: https://www.backerkit.com/are_you_a_backer.

I added extra funds to my pledge to buy accessories, how do I use my credit?

When you open up your survey, it will open on the reward level that you pledged in. You can either upgrade to a higher reward level using the funds you have or you will see your credit on the Extras page where you can select from the various items. If you can't find what you are looking for, please be sure to contact us at [email protected].

I have moved, how do I edit my address?

We plan to start shipping in February, so we prefer to lock the surveys right away after you complete them. If you are moving between February and March, please provide a safe address to make sure your package arrives, maybe from a family member or friend. If you need to change your address, please get in touch with [email protected].

We did it!!!! 🎉🎉

What an amazing campaign everybody!! Thank you so much to each and everyone of you!

We have 503 backers that believe in our project, what a great number! 😍 Thank you to each and every one of you that helped to make it happen!

What comes next:

By now, Kickstarter should have collected your contribution. If there is an issue with your payment Kickstarter will email you; they will give you 7 days to fix your information, so you can either contact your bank and give them permission to proceed with the payment (sometimes credit cards are limited to national payments only), or update your credit card details. If you couldn't manage to update your payment options during these 7 days, Kickstarter will drop you from our campaign, which of course would be a real pity :(   

If nothing works but you still want to keep your pledge, we will be happy to send you your survey directly through BackerKit, just let us now via private message.

Surveys:

You will receive an e-mail from BackerKit, our pledge manager soon, with all the necessary information to complete your shipments. There you will be able to add individual '12 Principles' flip books to your pledge or pick some additional add-ons that we will offer at the platform. We have to wait until we receive the Kickstarter funds before we can send your surveys, so this will take around two weeks. However, we will send another update shortly before sending the surveys so you can watch out for the email and make sure you receive it.

What's more:

We're very eager to take the next big step in our journey: PRODUCTION. We will make a first print run of 1000 units, and will start shipping right after this first print run is ready. We expect this to be around mid-February. 

You will hear from us again in about two weeks, when we are ready to send your BackerKit surveys. For now, we wish you wonderful Christmas (or other) holidays and hope you will spend some heart warming time with your families, friends, pets and santa. Stay safe!

New Animation Cels from Hanna-Barbera!

Dear Backers,

Our dear Raúl and his lovely wife Rocío have visited us this week, all the long way from Los Angeles to Mallorca, and we have spent a few days surrounded by good food and animation cels, while recalling countless memories and anecdotes related to the animation community and Raúl's work at Disney and other studios.

New cels available!

Raul also took the opportunity to sign the original cels from his time as a Hanna-Barbera animator and the great news is, he brought us some more!! Now we got two original cels from The Smurfs and one of the famous Dalton Brothers from the Lucky Luke series. There are still two Flintstones cels available and one of Lucky Luke on his horse. These original animation cels are almost 40 years old and represent a time in the history of animation that is now a thing of the past, when the work of those animated cartoons was 100% made by hand.

These are exclusive perks with very limited stock, so hurry if you want to get one ;).

We are now only 6 days away from the end of our campaign. As always, we're extremely grateful for all the spreading that will help us to push the campaign a little more forward.

New Progress with the AR Cubes!

Hello backers!

Today is a lucky day!!! We are featured on Kickstarter's home page as the featured project of the day! What an honor,  this is our 9th Kickstarter campaign (6th with Flipboku) and we have experienced many exciting moments -  this one is definitely one of the highlights. 😊

Augmented Reality Progress

But let's get you some interesting news regarding your Flipbook:

During last week, we have made some progress with the AR movies that will be matched to the cubes. We tried different sizes for the videos and finally decided to match them directly to the size of the cube, that way the effect is more eye-catching since you can still see the cube moving in your hand.

Here is a little video where you can see some progress. Please note that it's a work in progress, not the final version. The voice over is just for reference as well. For the final product we will have a professional voice over recorded.
